Milo Imagines The World by Matt de la Peña and Christian Robinson
$24.99 CAD
We have sold and supported and celebrated books by Matt de la Peña and Christian Robinson before - there is magic in their books.
When I read about this newest one, I could tell we were about to again meet a character who've view of the world around them might have us re-imaging our own experiences, and addressing implicit biases. If you remember The Smallest Girl in the Smallest Grade you'll remember tenderness and thoughtfulness and self-awareness all presenting themselves in the poetic tale that de la Peña and Robinson gave us a few years back.
And so here is Milo, on the subway, with his big sister on their way to see their mother. Milo is carefully regarding all the passengers on the subway and trying to imagine their story. We learn that you can never imagine a person world just by looking at them, no matter how hard you might try.
This book is a beautiful way to address bigger topics for your home or classroom. Penguin Random House also created a wonderful teacher's guide this book that I highly recommend.
