How To Be A Pirate by Issac Fitzgerald & Brigette Barrager
I will pretty much sell all the books that Brigette illustrates. I love her bright, bold palate that is new and fresh and holds the spirit of vintage picture books. She also seems to work with really, really, awesome writers. I bought this book for the store sight unseen. It's a DELIGHT. I picture it as a great gift for Father's Day - and a wonderful celebration of a child's relationship with their grandparent. Read on for more about it via "Goodreads".
"CeCe dreams of being a pirate. When the neighbourhood boys tell her that she can't, she wonders where to begin. Luckily, she suspects her grandpa must know something about being a pirate--why else would he have all those tattoos?
As he shares each tattoo, Grandpa and CeCe are transported from adventure to adventure, and CeCe discovers that there are all kinds of ways to be a pirate--Be BRAVE! Be QUICK! Be INDEPENDENT! And FUN!--and most of all, whether you're a pirate or not, the most important thing you can do is to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF" - Goodreads
