When the shop first opened, it felt like we were a store that specialized in Oliver Jeffer Books. From "How To Catch A Star" to "This Moose Belongs To Me" my staff and I might have come to memorize more than a few of his titles.
As his career catapulted to something very few children's book illustrators can achieve, his books could be found absolutely everywhere. Try as I might, and despite them being sold EVERYWHERE, I can't help but also bring them into my shop. He remains true to his wonderfully unique style, tender words, and lately, adding a more deeply personal connection to each book. When his son was born a few years ago, he made "Here We Are" a sweet tale of a new parent's attempt to describe live on earth to his newborn babe. With the arrival of his daughter a few years later, another book HAD TO be made of course. This book follows the same theme of a parent and child building their lives together. A closer look at the book (and a little video made by Oliver) reveals that the little fox throughout is a nod to his late mother, whom he celebrates a lovely connection to with the birth of his daughter.
Oilver Jeffers are sold everywhere because they are really, really nice books. I'm glad to have this one here to share with you.
