Carly Gledhill is a children’s book author/ illustrator and surface pattern designer, based in Manchester, U.K.

Her work draws from a love of colour, 90's Kid's TV, slapstick humour, mid century design and hours spent tending to her garden. She has completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration and also works as a print designer for U.K based collective New Kid Club.

Carly illustrates picture, novelty and board books for publishers including Macmillan, Penguin Random House and Andersen Press.

In 2024 Carly's work was a winner at the Bologna Children's Book Fair illustrators exhibition, The Cheltenham Illustration Awards, the Chen Bochui Illustration Exhibition, Pictoplasma and a chosen entry to Illustration West 62.

She likes running (sort of), playing netball, growing plants, collecting children's books old and new, New York City, true crime podcasts and hardcore punk music 🤟
