All the things you might already love about Jon Klassen books are right here in this 100 page delight of a book. If you’re new to his works, he can be counted on for characters that speak in deadpan, who give one another side eye, and who almost always wear hats, even if it might end them. There is also a sweet tenderness. Living with small children, you might relate to the yelling, and the stubbornness about having things a certain way. You might also delight in the highs and lows, the sitting still after a wild time, and the constant interruptions of a well intended voice. Like with all of his books, the parts left unsaid are the THE MOST IMPORTANT parts of this book, and I cannot wait to see what my own kids make of these magnificent silences.
