Hello Friends,
I've been writing this post to you in my head for a few days. Instead of leaning into the offerings of AI for all things marketing, I'm still here actually writing to you - because it matters to me.
It matters to me that we read. It matters to me that we write. It matters to me that the art of picture books and the art of writing stay alive.Â
Poetry is something I still find can stop me in my tracks. Even when it appears on Instagram, or comes in a text - Â it still lifts my heart, soothes my mind, reminds me that there are still human beings making things for one another.
The other day at the shop I unpacked two books featuring Mary Oliver, and I got all excited about a new generation of readers finding her work. The natural world was her starting point for inspiration, and reading anything by her makes me want to take a deep break and go for a walk. It also makes me feel gratitude, which is also an instant grounding force for me.
Here's to so much more poetry. In our books and journals on our walks and in all the ways we move through the world.
Â
